A wet sump top fuel dragster oiling system is an amaising thing . The accereration makes it like running the engine in a nearly vertical position . Was it Don Garlits who originated the idea of running with 12 quarts in the pan . No air , no bubbles . Even .5 g acceleration is like having the engine tilted up at 26.5 deg which would have the rear counterweights and rods splashing in the oil with a stock depth oil pan . John Burk |
