I'd bet short fat shapes can stand steeper convergent angles because the air at the widest part is more compressed and trys harder to return back into the low pressure in the convergent area - Long skinny shapes would give the pressure more time to spread out so there's less to push the air back in - A streamliner that's somewhat straight in the middle would give the pressure even more time to dissipate and would need a gradual taper . |
