Bob,

No on the boulders being bronze ... but they have received their share
of paint from damaged cars.  Check out the bronze tree Stan did last
year to commemorate the Lewis and Clark Expedition's northmost
exploration at Long Beach, Washington.

If you look closely at some of the views on the first site you can
see the writing carved into the tree just as recorded in the journals
of the expedition.  Just watching that 20 foot tree being crafted in
clay was fascinating.  Stan says an eagle has recently been using the
tree as a perch.  I can't tell from the picture on the second site but
since it refreshes every minute I keep trying.
