Yes, Dave's program is far more comprehensive and looks like a good value.
I thought I'd pass along the little "freebie" to anyone who might find it
helpful; it certainly isn't a substitute for Dave's software, though.

Neil, have you looked at Dave Dahlgren's Gear Split?
This is a force-based calculator and one of the most
accurate I have worked with. It was originally
developed for Bonneville but also works for other
racing venues. Certainly worth a look and inexpensive
too. You will not find a better gear calculator
