While I've heard of ACCUS, I've yet to see their presence at any race meet
that I've attended. I suspect that they've simply slipped into an irrelevant

If the racers in LSR do not know about ACCUS (and sadly I had assumed you
would have done) then I now appreciate how ludicrous all my e-chat about the
FIA would have seemed to 'ordinary' racers. Did any one other than Louise
and Dave Petrali know of the ACCUS?
I could not see why the ACCUS should have been so silent so to speak about
their role in recognising LSR records under FIA rules in the USA but knowing
that it is not an organising body like the SCTA answers that question!
It does rekindle the question as to whether a Worldwide recognition of
classes and World speed records should be created outside the narrow
boundaries of the FIA?
