Hi all,
It's not just the power requirements that make a 4.88 bad it's the fact
that you have to overdrive the pinion so much to get a usable ratio. If you
put in a 2/1 QC set to get a 2.44 ratio you get 14,00 RPM at the pinion gear
at 7,000 RPM in high gear. It's really hard on the bearings.
