For the most part everyone addressed their own plans and didn't address your
comments above .
Many newcomers to our sport want to run what they got. That's not always
workable for LSR, but they don't want to build a new car just to run on the
salt once a year. Just an observation, good or bad, from our East Coast
experience.
I went back and tried to remember the classes I found lacking over the past
several years at Bonneville. Not necessarily empty just lacking in any
significant participation. Here's my thoughts:
Diesel Streamliner
Electric Vehicle
Turbine Vehicle
Vintage Coupe Sedan
Vintage Oval Track
Midget Oval Track
Unlimited Diesel Truck
Modified Diesel Truck
Highway Hauler
Diesel Truck
Can we eliminate these? Will it help much? Wouldn't mind seeing the Vintage
Oval Track class opened, rather than closed, to include all Circle Track
cars. Actually think this would increase participation at events. As for
all the engine classes, do we really want 1000cc Fuel Roadsters, 900cc Comp
Coupes or 550cc Gas Coupes running around out there? Maybe?
What do the rest of you think?
