The ECTA crew did another outstanding job Glen....  Honest answer it was
just a Perfectly run meet.... which seems to be more and More of a norm for
us.... the weather was great.... and even if it wasn't you can wait it
out.... dry the track a bit and go to racing..... it's hard to truly cancel
a Maxton meet....

Who went fast.... well the Durnheim (sp) Biglow Lakester was the fast car of
the Meet... at 226mph and change.... and we had a fella come down and REALLY
go fast on a scooter.... fastest Pass ever at 220mph and change....

We had LOTS of new faces and new entries..... some semi fast and some
not.... but the one that Caught my attention was one of my Hero's ... Don
McMeekin brought out his little Monza with a D Motor in it.... and ran 178
on a tune up Pass....where upon he immediately holed the oil pan... a quick
patch and he was running again on Sunday..... then broke his parachute
mount.... Thanks to Don I think I finally have something to race with at
maxton......( geez guess I better get that Gas Only cam after all...)

Jim Cannon was out with Snaggle puss..... ( his Hardly ableson.... furdley
Hargleson? HD )  Jim was colorful as usual....but I think I heard tales of
him looking for a Body to run a Car.... Hmmm guess that Camaro did it's
trick....

Scotty Guthrie did his normal million scooter passes at over 2 bills I
think.... and we had Two new bike guys become members of the Two Club... we
are up to 22 members now with 13 of them being bike guys....
one of those two Mike Sweeny had to buy/barrow a sprocket from Scotty but to
his Credit Scotty was very helpful to him.... ( ya gotta love a sport where
your competitor will help you go faster then he can...)

Sam the Original Hot Rod Junkie made a Splash at 162mph in his new Tom Thumb
special look alike ( Peirson Bros Coupe if you Must... I like it as TOM
BRYANT's Ride )   There is a Huge story in that car.... it's about 100 folks
getting together and coming up with parts or cash to help this fella realize
his dream of running 200 mph on the salt.....  You all will see this Orange
car with an Aluminum Nose.... make sure you stop by and say Hey to Sam.....
he is just a great guy.... and personally I have a feeling that this car is
a Pay back from Years of helping others..... Neat stuff....
