Off the wall question:
I've been following Orbital's lean burn DI development
for a while and I was wondering if anyone had thought about
using the DI injectors (from Synerject) as a port nozzle.
Seems like a short duration fuel pulse at or near maximum
intake valve lift, aimed directly into the chamber would
allow minimum exclusion of air by fuel while providing the
necessary atomization.
One more off the wall question:
Has anyone besides Honda tried heating the fuel prior to
injection so that it flashes to a vapor?
