Hi Folks, glad to see the chemistry of nitromethane under review. It's
been around for about 50 years now as a motor racing fuel.
As to the power it produces, sources I've been reading for years
indicate that if a 500 cubic inch Hemi can produce 1000 HP on gas,
unblown, the same engine can produce 1500 HP on nitromethane straight
from the can, unblown, and if the same engine is blown at 30 psi
manifold pressure, it will produce 5000 HP on the straight nitro. For a
