Lets see if I can made a few comments. This isn't my field of knowledge
but I will try to relay a few remarks by my better half. Ed has sprayed
with many guns. Due to EPA laws here in Utah, he is required to use
HVLP guns. There are many guns that are reasonably priced that work
well. Ed's prefers gravity fed guns as they have a better gloss than
siphen fed guns. He feels very strongly with your comment about using
Devilbis JGA conventional guns - for the best paint job you'll ever
see. It's reasonably priced, and has 3 or 4 different nozzles that fits
your needs. Ed has received many trophies with his paint jobs using the
Devilbis. (He won't brag about this but I will). Altitude, I understand
also makes a difference. When we paint our 39 chev, he will use Dupont
Centauri as his choice of paint.
He suggests anyone check with their local jobber and ask for a demo.
