Hey Chad welcome to the Surface..... Come back more often.
I got a Cheap Sheet metal Brake from Northern or Harbor last year... and it
was really rather average.... then Brad and I got to talking about what it
was going to take to fix it... I stuck a piece of 2 1/2" angle iron on the
front face that swivels... and it was an instant success.... Yesterday I
was bending 2" strap 1/8" thick with no problems... ( Nitrous Brackets for
the Trunk)
I know a guy that build an 8' brake out of 3" angle and it's just fine...
not fancy... and it might take a little more work.... but it's real
doable... The best part about it is that it's not as bulky as my 4' because
it's just a couple of pieces of angle with a swivel....and Clamping
mechanisim
