Hi Rich, You could be right ; there might have been reed valves in
those
nasty V1 forerunners to the much larger V2 rockets , but I recall
seeing
cutaway drawings which showed a " door " of vanes , looking very much like
venetian blinds , and opening and closing in the same manner , mounted a
short
distance in from the air intake , and it was stated that their purpose was to
control the air flow by rapidly fluttering open and closed in time with the
combustion
sequence . Just my take on how the incoming air was handled --------
they
seemed to make a lot of power with cheap fuel and very few parts !
Hope you aren' t considering mounting one on your roadster ! It
looks great
the way it is --------- and where do you find spare parts for those
stovepipes ???
