The flywheel is a steel-faced aluminum job. I'm
going to use a Chevy 4-speed, consequently, I'll
be using a Chevy disc under the Ford pressure

#######Dick,
Just make sure you use a clutch cover that will handle higher RPM's. I
had one disintegrate between my knees in 1955 on the old dragster I posted a
pic of on Ewalds website. Luckily the scattershield did its thing and a
change of laundry was the only consequence.
I hope my memory served me correctly regards installing an 11" truck
clutch on a 59-A block without removing the pan. I know that the 10" will go
in and out, and recall that the 11" will also.
The aluminum flywheel is probably only drilled for one clutch size,
usually a 10". In that case, if you decide to run an 11" the flywheel will
have to be changed, requiring the pan to be removed. If It were mine I'd
match the clutch to whatever size the flywheel was drilled for rather than
having to find an 11" aluminum flywheel for a motor that's been out of
production for 45 years..............Ardun Doug King#########
