"There are a lot of guys who build AWESOME cars and run in tough classes
and never get records, but a guy who stumbles across an easy record with a
so so car gets all kinds of recognition. To me, this belittles the guy who's
giving it his all to have the fastest ride he can build."
Interesting. Maybe this is why the 200 MPH club instituted all those
wonderful MINIMUMS. You know, where in some classes you actually have to go
300 MPH to get into the Two Club.
Actually I like to pick on easy records cause afterwards, when I'm
successful, there not so easy any more. On the other hand, after you've run
at Bonneville for a while you come to realize that there aren't ANY easy
records. Just ask Keith.
