I'd like to point out that the question was about a car that needed
tires for under 200mph that being the case he can run high speed
street tires HR rated to 150mph and VR or ZR rated tires to 200. You
also don't need racing manufactured rims. Of course it certainly
wouldn't be a bad idea. Taylor wheels (213) 567-3998 is a popular
builder of good wheels.

On the subject of tubes, there are few guys that know how to properly
do a tube anymore. The problem is they are very easy to get a wrinkle
in, a sure leak sooner or later. Dust tube with talcum powder before
installing in the tire , inflate the tire and leave the valve core out
, bounce the tire good and hard as the air escapes do this several
times. This is the only way I know to get rid of wrinkles.

I think where a lot of cars get into trouble is taking weight of the
front end buy setting the motor back which makes the car unstable and
putting weight clear out on the tail of the car. When the car starts
to fishtail the weight just thows the car more violently. You can tell
if a car has to much tail weight when it spins as it will whip every
time the tail comes around instead of nice even spins. It's called
polar motion or some such.

Tip of the day if your tubeless tires leak around the rim get out your
can of Permetex Aviation gasket sealer and put a coat on the bead of
your tire, usually does the trick.

I have run all sorts of Goodyear's over the years, NASCAR type, &
Frontrunners, none of which needed tubes, and ran for years without any. The
Land Speed tires come from the same molds as Frontrunners, but different
construction, so tubes shouldn't be necessary. All the Mickey Thompsons I
have had just won't hold air for any length of time, so I run tubes.
