Like many here, I too have a silicone gasket on my BJ-8, and find it cut =
the leaks down to just about nothing. I have an allot rocker cover and =
did as others have described =E2=80=93 applied silicone sealant between =
the cover and gasket, ensure it sets on an even surface and let it cure =
before use.
=20
The one thing I would do different is I would put blue painters tape all =
around the cover before attempting to apply the silicone sealant. I =
figured I could be careful enough to get none on the cover, but as we =
all really know =E2=80=93 that stuff goes where it wants to go=E2=80=A6
=20
My notes tell me I got the one recommended by Bruce Steel on this list, =
sourced from Alexander Racing Enterprise/Vintage Racers.

Subject: [Healeys] Rocker cover gasket
=20
I have the excellent Ray Juncal rocker cover with a cork gasket. I =
noticed that Moss sells a silicone gasket. So 2 questions for the =
list:
1. Is the silicone gasket worth it?
2. Moss has 2 versions, one for the original rocker cover and one for =
"alloy covers". No other explanation. Anyone have an opinion on which =
to get?
Thanks.
