I'm restoring the air filters on my low mileage BN2. The front and back plates of the filter assemblies are still painted with the original green hammertone paint but there is absolutely no evidence of green paint anywhere on the perforated grille which covers the filter elements. As far as I can tell these appear to have been unpainted mild steel. Does anyone know for sure whether these were painted?
