You do not want a higher than standard oil pressure for normal use but
extra oil flow is never a bad thing in a hot engine. If you fit a high
volume pump you will get a higher oil pressure and you have to reduce
the oil pressure to standard by fitting a weaker spring or adjusting the
spring tension if possible.
Failing to do that may lead to the earlier mentioned damage to the cam
wheel and perhaps some other parts.
