Many may not realize that Naugahyde comes from Naugatuck, Connecticut. If
you need to replace it, apparently there are still several bands of
free-ranging Naugys running throughout Naugatuck. If you are able to catch
one (they are fast), you might be able to fashion new Naugahyde seat
covers. While Naugys reportedly come in different colors, some say that
those variations are due to the latest pollution in the Naugatuck River
(another reason for the demise of the former home of Peter & Paul Mounds).
