In case you want a slightly different take on the speedo /high beam, tach/i=
gnition discussion as Richard had asked, I pulled out some of the Sprite ga=
uges today to see if Smiths/Austin Healey had a set pattern of where the wa=
rning lights were placed. Found early 6000 RPM Sprite tachometers, some wit=
h ignition and some with high beam. Same with several of the 100MPH Speedos=
.=20
As we used to say when we were kids, Go Figure. Still don=E2=80=99t know wh=
at that really means, but since I=E2=80=99m puzzled, I=E2=80=99ll go with t=
hat.

Hi All,
It seems to me that the Anderson -Moment book is in error. According to the=

the Tach has the Ignition light and the Speedo has the High Beam light for =
all Big Healeys from the 100 through the BJ7.=C2=A0

Gauges on Big Healeys through the BJ7 models (with the exception of the 100=

=E2=80=A2 "Safety gauge" that showed oil pressure and water temperature=20
=E2=80=A2 Speedometer that incorporated a mileage meter (with a number on t=

Tachometer that incorporated a "ignition" (discharging) warning light (wi=

=E2=80=A2 Fuel gauge=20
=E2=80=A2 European market gauges were metric (speedometer (KPH) and=20

I would like to see a photo of a gauge the other way around.

I need some help with the proper color for the high beam warning light in m=
