That's exactly what it is. The Jamaican was a fiberglass body that was =
designed to fit the Healey frame along with a few other sports cars. It =
was particularly attractive to those with rusty Healey bodies, but a =
closer look might have found a rusty chassis under those rusty bodies. =
Speaking of the California company, Fiberfab, that sold the Jamaican, =
they always featured some rust-free bodies in their ads that were also =
particularly attractive to young guys like me. Additionally, they sold =
the Avenger that was a GT40 look-alike for the VW and the Banshee that =
was a Cobra Daytona clone for Healeys. For the Road & Track faithful, =
the Jamaican was designed by Chris Beebe, Peter Egan's good friend. In =
addition to a Healey frame , the Jamaican also had an available custom =
frame for a V8 that did over 200 mph at Bonneville. I think a lot more =
were bought than were ever finished. Today's Cobra kits seem much =
easier to complete than those old kit cars ever were. They seem to be =
more valued by our European and British cousins than in the states, but =
I still think they are very handsome.

It looks like a Fiberfab Jamaican, a fiberglass kit car popular(?) back =
in the 60s and 70s. You could put the fiberglass body on a number of =
frames, including Austin-Healey. Putting a V8 into it and calling it an =
Austin-Healey Jamaican isn=E2=80=99t a lie, but it is awfully cheeky to =
ask =C2=A375,000.00 for it. Maybe the race history is worth a lot.
