Here a tip, irrespective of whether you have an original radiator, or especi=
ally an alloy one.=20
Swap the bottom mounting ears side to side.=20
Then you have a gap to mount a rubberized mounting reel.=20
In Australia, that's an FJ holden 3/8 bolt rubber Centred radiator mount.=20=
Buy 2 pair at your local Repco.=20
So for my American friends, you are looking for a radiator mounting with 3/8=
-24 studs either end, and a "cotton reel" rubber block in the centre.=20
Grind about 3 threads off a Holden FJ one, on the inside where it bolts to t=
he radiator bracket, and now your bottom radiator mounts now are rubberised.=
No more issues from vibration.=20
Vibration kills solid mounted radiators.=20

atrix on the radiator is extremely sensitive to distortion. As there are no=
fixed nuts on the attachment fixtures at either side, getting the radiator i=
nstalled is more difficult and led to some damage that I had to correct. Mos=
t troubling, with the radiator in the lowest possible position--which means w=
hen the hose outlet at the bottom comes in contact against the cross member b=
ehind the radiator--I found the radiator's tank front corners made contact w=
ith the underside of the hood and ditto the rear of the radiator cap against=
the hood cross brace. I verified those contacts with tabs of modeling clay=
. I addressed the problem by slightly loosening the hood latch, and all seem=
s to be working OK for now. Also, I paid more than the price listed in the a=
d that prompted this discussion. I'm hanging onto the original radiator jus=
t in case.
