Alan,
Unfortunately, with regard to BSF and other Whitworth fasteners it's not
very easy or user friendly. Most BSF fasteners in the 100 parts book are
listed by a BMC part number which does nothing to identify the size or type
of the fastener.
What is needed is for someone to sit down with the parts book and bake a
chart, and I may have some info for you but I'll have to dig it up, so more
on this a little later.
