Steve, if you didn't strip the brass nuts, you're O.K.  You want to get the
nuts tight enough to prevent manifold gasket leaks, and tightened as evenly
as possible (I do it by feel).  With the engine in the car, it's hard enough
just to access the bottom nuts, much less to get a torque wrench on them.

There are standard torques you can look up on the internet based on the
diameter and hardness of the bolts/studs, but there are none for brass nuts
on a steel stud.

Can anyone help with the torque settings for the exhaust and intake
manifolds?  I'm concerned that I may have over tightened the brass nuts on
the
exhaust......I can't find a spec for them in the AH shop manual.
