Alan,

Up until chassis no.BN1. 221403 the internal bore was larger than on  
the following cars including BN2
BN4 and BN6. I do not remember the exact sizes but you may be right  
in the that the first ones were
1" and the following were 7/8".

Sometimes I fit the larger front ones to the later cars as well,  
since I found that it helps curing the brake
balance problems that often occurs on Healeys using modern non  
asbestos brake linings. The same
problem often occurs with 30004s as well, when using modern brake  
lining material. The rear wheels lock
first, which can be very dangerous and this condition is hardly  
noticeable under normal conditions. It is
not evident until an emergency occurs and therefore often overlooked.
