Sorry about not explaining it clearer, the coil lead wire is where the
main spark plug wire comes off of the coil to distributor. The primary
winding studs are the CB and SW or - and + depending on coil. Lucas
sports coil Primary 3.0 Ohm Secondary 8.8K Ohm. The only time that I
had a coil get hot and I mean hot was when I was using one that the
primary was 0.7 and it was a universal coil. The car would run great
until the coil got hot and would then quit. Once I placed a ballast
resistor in line it would not get hot, Go figure. General Rule of Thumb
Primary windings range from a few tenths of an ohm to a few ohms, and
secondary winding may be 10 ohms or more.
