My PO bypassed it on my BJ8 and I haven't changed it. From what I 
understand, the throttle linkage relay prevents the OD from disengaging 
without some throttle advance. This helps stop stress on the OD which 
will happen if it disengages with a closed throttle. You just have to 
remember to give it a shot of gas before you flip out of OD or use the 
clutch when you drop down. If the relay is set properly all it does is 
force you to step on the gas or it will not disengage. I am not sure if 
it provides any other function other than that. Am I wrong here?
