sport coil and dwell setting

I installed a Lucas sport coil in my BN2 yesterday and set the points 
at 22 thou as is the factory spec for a Mallory dual point dist. The 
plugs are set at 30 thou . My question is this, does anything I have 
done effect  the , point / dwell setting or does any one see any errors 
in my settings. The car runs well enough. Thanx Jonathan
