Windshield crack

I've got about a 3in crack starting at the edge of the windshield  
(drivers side, about half way up)... any DIY recommendations on  
products to fix/stop the crack from progressing?  (When I bought the  
car, I told myself I would just look over it.... but you know how it  
goes... )
