Guys I could be wrong, but if it's cam timing wouldn't Mel have both carbs
blowing back? If it were just ignition timing neither carb would exhibit
blowback and chatter. I hate to say it but it sounds to me like one of the
intake valves in the back 3 cylinders is not closed for some reason. Either
it's set wrong (no clearance), or it's stuck in the guide.
Just my guess.
