I guess it sort of brings to mind "if it sounds too good to be trrue etc."

I seem to remember seeing an ad or reading an article about sipes in snow or
rain tires and that they are supposed to increase traction.

If it were really that good (35% better braking perf.) with no tradeoffs
(maybe increased wear or limited life or usefullness of sipes) I would think
Goodyear, Michelen, Dunlop, etc,would be on to it.
