Ben--
I believe the arm should just pry off the shaft. I have seen a few cars
where owners have drilled and tapped through the end of the arm cover and into
the
shaft and pinned the two together with a machine screw apparently to solve a
problem similar to yours.
Are you sure that the arm is slipping on the shaft? I have had problems with
the gearbox faceplate's coming loose resulting in reduced and erratic arm
movement.

The arm slips on the shaft that extends from the wheelbox (items 40
and 35 on page 94 of my year-old Moss catalog). How does one remove the
wiper arm from the shaft? Is there some type of catch that must be released?
I gingerly pried without success, but I'm afraid increased force will break
something. After the wiper arm is off, what is the best way to correct the
slipping?
