Carb Gaskets

I'd welcome recommendations on whether or not to use gasket sealer on 
carb-to-manifold gaskets, and if so what kind. I'm dealing with both the 
metallic-type gasket between  spacer and intake manifold, and the 
composition-type between spacers, heat shield, and carb. Thanks in advance 
for your comments.
