Best paint for respraying BJ8 SU air filters

Has anyone re-sprayed the BJ8 SU air filters with anything close to the 
original colour?

I'm looking at the Hammerite aerosol, 'direct to rust' metal paint, 
'hammered' finish, in 'silver grey'.

Is this a good choice? Anything better or closer? I'm in the UK, so may 
not have the same wide choice as many of you, of course.
