Jack,
I used a BN7/BT7/BJ7 harness when I rewired my BJ7 and found that there were
some differences. The most notable was that the harness I had, expected the
fuel pump to be on the left side of the car while mine was on the right
side. As I recall, if I had spent about $50 more on the harness, I could
have bought one from another company which was considerably more accurate.
Other major issues:
- My car has only one horn and the harness expected two horns.
- At some point, a previous owner had replace the voltage regulator with one
which has spade lugs instead of screw terminals.
- The harness did not have all of the sockets for the dashboard lights.

Subject: WIRING DIAGRAM(S)
HI ALL, I HAVE AN ORIGINAL FACTORY SHOP MANUAL PURCHASED IN MAY, 1963
WHEN I ALSO PURCHASED MY BT7 MK2. ANYWAY, I'M PUTTING A NEW WIRING
HARNESS IN A BN7 MK1 (WITH O.D.) FOR A GUY. THE MANUAL STATES THAT IT
COVERS BN6 THRU BJ7, BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE SCHEMATIC IN IT. WOULD I
EXPECT THE BN7 MK1 WIRING TO BE THE SAME AS ALL THOSE OTHERS?? THE NEW
HARNESS (FROM M+++) MATCHES THE SCHEMATIC IN MANY WAYS BUT NOT IN SOME
OTHERS. I CAN ALWAYS TRACK DOWN THE WIRE HOOKUPS WITH AN OHM METER BUT
THAT'S A PAIN. ALSO, THE NEW HARNESS HAS A COUPLE OF "EYE" TYPE ENDS
WHERE IT SEEMS THEY SHOULD BE SOMETHING ELSE AND, FOR EXAMPLE, THE WHITE
AND WHITE W/ PURPLE WIRES THAT ATTACH TO THE DASH O.D. SWITCH EMERGE
FROM THE BRAIDED HARNESS SO FAR APART THAT THEY CANNOT POSSIBLY ATTACH
TO THE SWITCH. AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?? PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
AND MANY THANKS!!!
JACK
