Fellow listers,
This was just too good and thought you might get a little chuckle out of it
too. Yesterday morning my wife (yeah she's still with me) had to run to the
grocery store. She hopped into our Acura TL started the engine and proceed to
back out of the drive way. By the time she hit the street (about 40') she lost
power steering.
She parked it on the road and called me outside and proceeded to tell me that
the car lost power steering. I walked to the driveway to see if there was any
sign of a belt or pieces of a belt. Instead I found the back half of a
chipmunk ripped apart with guts and blood sitting on the ground. It looked
like a hawk or other predator got hold of it and tore it apart.
I popped the hood and peered down where the belts thread. The PS belt was
dislodged from the pullies and wedged between the engine block and lower pully.
I nearly jumped back when I traced the belt to the top pully and found a
chipmunk stuck to the bottom edge staring back at me. I spun the pully over
and there was the rest of the front half the rodent.
Upon further inspection, there was guts & gizzards all over the right side of
the engine bay - YUCK!
Cheers,
Carlos Cruz
PS: Now I'm trying to explain to my daughter that Dale won't be seeing Chip
anymore...
