In the 25 years I've had my BT7, it has never had a front license plate.
First, for about eight years where it was driven a LOT, in Albany NY, but not
often parked on the street, only occasionally in parking lots. --And for
another 17 years it has been driven in Massachusetts and Rhode island, without
a front plate. True , since moving to Rhode Island, the Healey was in my
garage for an extended period under restoration. 7? years?
So, on the road for over 18 years, I was pulled over a few times, --a couple
for speeding early on, but the only time the missing plate was ever mentioned
was by a NY State officer who pulled me over on a country road, apologized and
said he just wanted to get a better look at the car, and his parting comment
was "You know you're supposed to have a front plate, right?". Never got
ticketed for it.
