There are no problems with the drums per se.

The BN1 is very sensitive to how you bleed the system.  If you don't
do it right, it will continue to have air in the system.

The only way to do it is to do it the old fashioned pedal-pumping
method... this will take two people.  If you used some sort of power
of vacuum bleeder this won't work on a BN1.  It won't because the
bleed valves are at the bottom of the system/cylinders so if you use a
suction method it will still have air in the system.

You MUST also bleed it in the right sequence... THIS IS VERY
IMPORTANT.  Any time you bleed the brakes on a BN1, you must bleed the
WHOLE SYSTEM in the right order.  Bleed Left Rear, Right Rear, then
Left Front then Right front.

The BN1 Shop manual explains this as well.  

On my BJ8 I don't have to follow these complex rules because the bleed
valves are placed at the top of the brake cylinders...
