Hi Ron.
I am assuming that it is the same as on the BT7, where the license plate is
mounted to a black bracket, which is bolted to the body in the two holes you
mention.
The license plate lamp mounts to a small black bracket which bolts to the rear
bumper.

My rear shroud has two holes in the center below the boot opening (BN7).
Was this where the factory mounted the license plate holder, directly through
the shroud and not on the bumper?? These holes were covered wilth Bondo when
I stripped the paint from the shroud.
