Hi Bill,
I believe 3/16" is the max. thickness of the linings. Have the shop "match"
them to the drums too. This will allow the shoes to have maximum matching
surface and will have them bedding in sooner.
The steady posts are set to position the shoe linings to be absolutely
perpendicular to the backplates, and therefore parallel to the drum surface.
The little felts are available from all the usual suppliers.
