The recent thread about steering wheels reminded me of the fine grained black
leather, laced-on steering wheel cover I had on my old cracked original
steering wheel. The cover went south, when I replaced the wheel.
I liked the leather cover, if for no other reason than that it increased
somewhat the diameter of the skinny rim. -Looking over the concours rules, I
haven't found anything strictly addressing wheel covers. I was wondering how
they are viewed by the committee. I suppose it could be considered an
accessory which was available during the period, but I figured there might be
a problem, even if only that it prevents determining the condition of the rim
underneath.
Rich, what's the verdict?
