Computer query. Sorry no Healeys in sight

Have two PCs with XP.
Have networked them and can get internet, send messages on both at same
time, so I do have a network.
BUT, I cannot find/access, let alone, move files and folders from/on one PC
to the other.
Have enabled file sharing etc, but feel I must have overlooked something
(small/petty/unnecessary/obstructive & generally Microsoftish).
Any ideas?
