As a follow-up to my long-winded dissertation on fitting an adaptor between
the 100's cylinder head and the water tap so you can insert a electro-thermal
sensor for a water gauge, I got a reply from a jobber in England who will make
them in one piece for 46 BPS (about $47) VAT and shipping included. The
advantage would be that a custom fitting would only add 3/4" to overall height
of the tap vs 1". This is a 'one off' price, and if there were enough orders,
maybe they would quote an even better price. Having fritzed one head, I view
an accurate supplemntal gauge as cheap insurance against overheating. The
company is a jobber to Holden, and actually supplies the UNF adaptor I
originally ordered, but found to be incorrectly threaded. The jobber supplies
lots of vintage car parts. If there is any interest I will see if I can get an
inclusive price for the adaptor and the sensor already tapped and mounted.
