I like the Michelin 175R15 (presently unavailable, but I'll bet
they will be back). They are 26" diameter, like the original bias ply. To
me they look good and ride well.
I have used 195-65-15 also, and they are good road tires with good grip for
autocross, but IMHO, they don't have the correct period look on the Healey.
I recently called Coker and asked if they had plans to bring thejm back--the
guy I talked to knew of none. I also asked him about a Michelin XAS tire
that they make in 165--notwithstanding the different number it has the same
dimensions, particularly diameter. It is available, though quite expensive.
The XAS used to come on a lot of the 6-cylinder BMW sedans back in the 1980's
and I liked it then--does anyone haave any information on them and thoughts on
whether they would be an appropriate tire? I have but about 5000-7000 miles
left on my 175-15 ZX's.
