Upon investigating a clunking sound emanating from the rt. front when I
touch the brake pedal I noticed that 1/2 of the shim (anti-squeal) plate was
missing. I ordered new ones from M--- and the new ones do not appear large
enough to cover the pad to piston surfaces. They are about 1/2 inch too
short.
Are these shims really needed and will the shortness of the new ones cause me
more problems if I use them? Does anyone just use the anti-squeal liquid that
comes in a tube and forego the shims? Thanks
