Hello, Healeyphiles -
This car has spent the last three or four years being sold around, rather than
out on the road being used.
The earliest record of it that I have is from the mid-late '90s, when it was
owned in Louisiana by someone who may now be deceased. From then, it was
offered on eBay in May, 2003 by fantasymotorsllc.com in Metairie, LA. In
October, 2003 it was advertised for sale in Hemmings by Stauffer Classics,
Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. In early 2004 it was sold at R-M Auctions for $27,550
(as reported by Sports Car Market, May, 2004, page 62). In July, 2004 and
September, 2004 it was again offered for sale on eBay by Autosports Designs,
Inc. of Huntington Station, NY. Now it's at Copley Motor Cars in Boston for
$54,800. Very interesting to see how the "value" of this car has doubled
since last year.
As far as the incorrect front parking/turn signal lenses are concerned, the
BJ8 registry has a record of 23 cars (ranging from chassis number 26551 to
41033) that now have the single amber plastic lenses in front. The amber
color, at least, is not correct, but for those vendors who only see the cars
as profit and do not know them well, how would they know or care that the
lenses should be clear? That said, I am still unconvinced based on data that
I have collected that the configurations of the cars as they left the factory
conformed strictly to what the parts books say they should have been.

Looks quite good. Any takers for $55000?
Are the lenses on the front turn signals correct? Just curious.
