Buy this stuff:

and use just standard 3M spray upholstry adhesive to
stick it on. I put this stuff on my BN1 and it's
going on my BJ8 right now. After I put it on my BN1's
floor boards, I got NO HEAT whatsoever from the
exhaust pipe which is right under the floor. This
stuff is really good! It's better than the asbestos
shield that's on the car originally.
By the way, although I am into other old cars... I'm a
healey fan!
