For the tail light circuit, I put an inline fuse between headlight
switch and the two red wires which connect to it. This protects
the tail lights and dash lights.
In the overdrive circuit, I put fuse in line with the white wire
which runs from the fuse block to the C2 connection on the
overdrive relay. (The wiring diagram, by the way, shows this wire
attached to C1 but mine was wired backwards.)

The inline circuits you want to protect are the feed to the overdrive
(50amp), the tail light circuit and the fuel pump circuit. No fuses and
a short will burn the wiring. Norm goes over it well in Tech Talk.

Also, in previous threads adding in-line fuses to some circuits.
Which circuits are those in need of the added protection?
