I know that the old salts have been over this again and again, but I've
misplaced my prior data. In fine tuning the 100-M, I'd like to know the pros
and cons of hotter/colder spark plugs. We are using some departures from the
norm, and don'tknow if they warrant consideration of a different spec spark.
We're using headers, have a very freeflow exhaust, are moderating the spark
with an MSD unit, and are running points vs. Pertronix. I'm using a 40-year
old Lucas Sports Coil, which doesn't overheat and seems to make the car purr
in ocnjunction with the MSD, but I doubt if it is as hot a voltage as the
newer ones. Fuel options are hi octane and racing fuel from a local
distributor a few miles away. The compression tests are 130#-135# across the
boards. we've redone the head with all unleaded components.
We have access to NGK plugs locally. Can someone recommend an NGK range in
view of the above, or any preferences for another brand.
